THE SCHOOL OFFER
The School Offer
It is fundamental to the Stable School’s philosophy that we provide a rich and diverse learning environment in which every child can have their social, emotional, and mental health needs met. Our curriculum mirrors the national curriculum at all key stages. Curriculum enrichment is paramount at The Stable school, offering all children a range of bespoke opportunities to enhance and reclaim a positive experience of school life for them.
The School

Therapeutic Support
At The Stable School we have adopted a trauma informed and holistic approach to our pupil’s development. This means that therapeutic needs are addressed in every area of school life and a therapeutic approach is integrated into our classroom experience. Our specialists (including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Trauma Informed School Diploma Practitioners, and ELSA trained staff) work with individuals, groups and whole classes alongside school staff to upskill all practitioners. This approach ensures sensory integration, communication support and trauma informed practise happens in every classroom throughout the school day.

Academic & Vocational Learning
The Barn Campus Years 1- 9
Every child follows a programme of learning to include core and foundation subjects and PSHE, in an age appropriate group and at a level that meets their academic and social needs. Academic learning is taught in small groups, using a carousel approach to foster greater engagement and to aid in embedding skills and knowledge. The wider curriculum offers a range of activities to support the personal development of every child, to include surfing, horse-riding, bushcraft, forest school, radio station, animal care, biking and cookery school.
The Gatehouse Campus Years 9-11
Students follow an appropriately levelled academic pathway for Maths and English, to include either Entry Level, Functional Skills and /or GCSE. Each student selects accredited options that they are interested in, from a range of GCSEs (English Literature, Statistics, Business Studies, Psychology, Media Studies) and AIM vocational qualifications (Health, Lifestyle and Science, Hair and Beauty, Construction, Digital Tech, Catering). We have a robust careers offer that prepares students for transition to their next destination. Students are grouped according to age for PSHE and access P.E and a range of other physical activities weekly.
