SAFEGUARDING
Safeguarding & Family Support
We are committed to ensuring all our students feel safe. We have robust Safeguarding & Support policies and procedures that keep students safe. We promote all students to know they are surrounded by adults that can help them.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding our children, families and staff is imperative to all at the Stable School. We have a robust system for recording concerns, disclosures and allegations. Our highly trained safeguarding team include 4 SLT members and 2 additional members of staff trained at Level 3. Our Head of Vulnerable Learners is trained at level 5 and currently undertaking an open University degree in social care. All staff are trained at level 1 on an annual basis and safeguarding is discussed at every staff meeting.
We have a weekly safeguarding panel through which we discuss open cases and ensure reflective practice.
We work with the Safer schools’ team and the multi-agency safeguarding hub (MASH) to develop ongoing support for any young person who experiences sexual harassment or abuse, online, in the community or at school.

Family Support
At the Stable school we believe that whole family support leads to better outcomes for pupils and increased life chances.
Dedicated family support team including:
Vulnerable Learners Lead – works with vulnerable learners and their families (including all of our looked after pupils). Liaises with social care, CAMHSs, MASH and community police officers to have a multiagency, creative and openly communicative approach to supporting our learners and their families.
Trauma Informed Lead – supports families by organising ‘Tea and Talk’ sessions, parent training sessions and other parent focused and/or led meetings as needed.
Senior Psychotherapist – delivers family therapy to ensure a 360 approach to making and sustaining behaviour change.
Champions – Each pupil has a dedicated champion who is the first point of contact for parents/carers and families.
Community police team – Known risk taking or criminal behaviour online or in the community supported by school in liaison with community police officers, MASH and social care.
Parent LAB (local advisory board) Member – manages our parent social media platforms, organises regular parent/carer breakfasts and tea and cake afternoons, where parents/carers can share views and exchange ideas for support.
